Damiana is a shrub plant that belongs to the saffron mallow (turnera diffusa) plant genus. Its natural range extends from southern North America to Argentina. Preferably, damiana thrives in dry, rocky locations - for example on cliffs, on limestones or also in mixed forests at altitudes between 500 meters and 1950 meters. Damiana has also been used as a tobacco substitute in Mexico for some time.
