Zurich Leaf Bakery launches TRIFT Snus
Three friends decide to make common cause and launch the first Swiss tobacco snus. Leaf Bakery was born in the Swiss Alps, as the idea to make their own snus came to two avid snowboarders Benedikt Vollenweider and Lorenz Richard in 2019 when they met on the slopes in Davos. When a snus can was on the table, the two realized that not only snowboarding connects them, but also their love for snus.
Benedikt discovered snus during his year abroad in Stockholm and then had it imported to Switzerland for his own use. Lorenz came into contact with snus through his passion for ice hockey and his fondness for old motorcycles. Both of them already had the idea to produce snus themselves, but until now the right partner was missing - this was now found!
After the first attempts in their own kitchen, the feedback from friends was not as negative as the two had suspected. And so they kept at it. However, to bring a little more manpower on board, Tim Grob, who had recently moved back to Switzerland from England, joined at the end of 2019.
Since our founding, we have only one goal: We want to produce a first-class snus that fits your individual moment. In doing so, we want to rely exclusively on local and domestic products. With a lot of passion and attention to detail, we continue to work on new recipes and flavors.
