Mint-flavoured snus: from soft spearmint to icy peppermint

With around 161 varieties, mint is our largest flavour category. Under your lip, it creates a fresh, herbal coolness that comes from the mint aroma – not from the temperature. How cool and sweet it tastes depends on whether the pouch contains Spearmint or Peppermint.

Spearmint starts soft and slightly sweet, while peppermint is more direct and sharper. You place both under your upper lip like any snus; the freshness builds through your saliva. Whether it is tobacco-free or contains tobacco is determined by the type filter – the flavour you mainly taste is the mint.

Spearmint, peppermint or extra frost?

Mint or menthol – which one when?

A quick distinction so you don't choose the wrong one: Mint tastes like the mint plant – green, herbal and slightly sweet. Menthol mainly feels cold and is more subtle in terms of flavour. Freshness says nothing about strength

A crisp peppermint flavour can be mild or brutally strong—coolness and nicotine are two separate things. In the mint category, you’ll find both: mild with weak Green Spearmint (0–9 mg/g), solidly strong with Crispy Peppermint (14 mg/g), or extra strong with Siberia -80 (43.3 mg/g). What is the difference between mint and menthol in snus?

Mint is the plant-based flavor (peppermint, spearmint). Menthol is the cooling effect, often indicated by “Ice” or “Freeze” in the name. Many varieties combine both—for example, mint in the foreground and menthol for extra coolness. Pure eucalyptus belongs to the herbal varieties, not mint.

Spearmint or peppermint—which is the difference?

Spearmint often tastes milder and sweeter, while peppermint is sharper and cooler. You’ll find both in this selection; the product page and variety name tell you which profile you’ll get. Compare strength separately by mg/g or filter.

How do you find the right strength for mint-flavored snus?

Filter by strength at the top of the page, and check the mg/g and mg/pouch on the product page. Mint is available from mild to very strong—the flavor does not indicate the nicotine strength. If you’re unsure, it’s better to start one level lower.
