Strong snus: potent varieties for every day

For us, strong snus is the middle level: noticeably more nicotine than mild snus, but not yet at the upper limit. In practice, most varieties here contain around 14–20 mg/g. This is our classification, designed to help you find the right can faster.

What “strong” means for us

The filter shows three levels: mild, strong and extra strong. Strong is in the middle—more potent than mild, but far from the extreme levels. For most people, this is the level they settle on when mild varieties don't provide enough.

One important point: Two cans with the same mg/g value can feel completely different. Moist tobacco often takes effect faster than dry tobacco, while with All White, the flavor comes through more clearly. So always look at the type and format as well, not just the number.

Flavor and nicotine have nothing to do with each other. A strong mint and a strong berry can have the same mg range – only the flavor is different. So choose the flavor you like first, then adjust the strength.

mg/g, mg per pouch and the scale on the can

Three figures keep appearing. Briefly and without the jargon:

mg/g – nicotine per gram of contents. Useful for comparing brands.
mg per pouch – the amount in the one pouch you insert. Closer to what you actually feel.
Scale from 1/5 to 5/5 – the manufacturer's rough assessment, not a substitute for the milligram measurement.

Our tip: try one pouch rather than two right away. Two pouches double the dose faster than you might think. Too strong or too mild?

Too strong? Step down to weak snus (often 8–14 mg/g) or choose a smaller format.
Too mild? Stay within the strong varieties at first and move toward 20 mg/g. Only then consider stepping up to extra strong—and never blindly choose the highest number.

If you feel nauseous, your heart is racing, or you feel dizzy, remove the pouch immediately.

What does strong snus mean?

Strong, exceeding the milder everyday doses—often roughly in the range of 14–20 mg/g, depending on the type and pouch weight. All White at 15–20 mg/g can feel very direct because there is no tobacco to dampen the flavor. Exact values are listed on the product page.

Difference between weak and extra strong?

Mild = lower nicotine range for less intensity. Strong = robust varieties, but not extreme. Extra strong = the upper end and beyond. The strength categories overlap at the edges—use the mg value as your guide, not just the page name.

How do I sensibly work my way up to strong snus?

Test one pouch, not two. Compare the mg-per-pouch values starting with weaker varieties, then move up one level. Moist tobacco often kicks in faster than White Dry; All White often feels more immediate at the same mg/g.
